Hello Collectors
Welcome to the final Stamp Bulletin for 2022, presenting the stamp issues and collectables that conclude this year’s releases. We hope you find some exciting gift ideas for the festive season ahead.
This year’s traditional Christmas stamps portray elements of the Christmas story, while also paying homage to the ancient art form of stained glass. This art form is particularly relevant in 2022, given that it’s the United Nation’s International Year of Glass. The secular stamps feature a festive word or greeting, presented with a colourful star motif.
The bright and cheerful illustrations on our Christmas Island Christmas stamps are set in the island’s airport and show local wildlife greeting Santa as he touches down to spread some festive cheer.
We are pleased to present the 2022 annual collections. These present all of the gummed commemorative stamp designs released throughout the year for the Australian and Australian Territories stamp programs, accompanied by interesting thematic text and vibrant imagery.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very happy and safe Christmas and New Year. It has been another challenging year for individuals and communities, and we have greatly valued your support and interest in our range of stamps and collectables. I look forward to everything we can accomplish in 2023.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II. It has been an honour for Australia Post to produce, since 1953, stamps commemorating the late Queen’s many milestones and achievements. To assist collectors with regards to this significant event we have extended the onsale date of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 stamps and minisheet.
