Hello Collectors

Welcome to our March edition of the Stamp Bulletin in 2025.

We have listened to your feedback, and we will be reintroducing editorial copy for each Stamp Issue to highlight background information on the release. Thank you for all your valuable feedback.

The first of the stamp issues for this edition presents Living Seashells, featuring a colourful collection of gastropod molluscs. This beautiful series features photographs taken by Brian R. Mayes in the watersof Nelson Bay, NSW.

Our next release in March, Christmas Island Cultural Festivals, celebrates the colours and stories from the Australian territories’ heritage. The full moon at the top of each stamp symbolises the lunar calendars that determine the timing of many of the festivals.
50 Years of Colour TV, our last release in March 2025, pays homage to five decades since Australia made the switch from black-and-white to colour television.

We leap into April with Raptors – Birds of Prey showcasing three diurnal raptors. The raptors featured are active during the day and include a variety of eagles, hawks, kites, harriers and falcons. We showcase the Little Eagle (Hieraaetus morphnoides), the Grey Falcon (Falco hypoleucos) and the Black-breasted Buzzard (Hamirostra melanosternon) in our Raptors – Birds of Prey release.

Our next release in April, Postcards from the Front, complements our 2022 issue, Postcards to the Front, and commemorates the ‘golden age’ of postcards where millions of embroidered silk postcards were sent during World War I.

AAT Aurora Australis, our last release in April 2025, features four mesmerising photographs by Barend (Barry) Becker taken from Casey Research Station of the Aurora Australis.

Finally, you can find licensed stamp packs and PNCs commemorating some classics on screen, including a E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Looney Tunes Easter, Star Wars and Bambi. There is also information on the Sydney Stamp & Coin Expo 2025 held from the 20-23 March 2025.
