The 2015 Collection of Australian Stamps is now available for collectors to buy. The beautifully presented publication features each Australian gummed stamp issue released in 2015, together with the stories behind each issue, and is presented in a quality-bound full-colour book.
The collection is released just prior to Christmas and this year includes 101 mint stamps, 15 miniature sheets and a special gummed sheetlet unique to this full colour publication.
This album is designed to complement collections, but is also a wonderful gift as an introduction to philately, and the events that were commemorated or celebrated by Australia in 2015.
“This year’s exciting and varied stamp issue program has been captured in the 2015 Collection of Australian Stamps. The elegant book is an informative read and a valuable resource for collectors. It is also an ideal gift for any occasion, but especially for Christmas,” said Australia Post Philatelic Manager, Mr Michael Zsolt.
“One of the memorable stamp issues this year is the Centenary of WWI: Gallipoli 1915, the second stamp issue in a five-year series designed to tell the story of our nation’s involvement in World War I. We also commemorated recent recipients of the Victoria Cross in the Australian Legends issue. Other stamp issues celebrate the birth of Princess Charlotte, Queen Elizabeth II as the longest reigning British monarch, spectacular islands of Australia, and well known heritage-listed neon signs.”
A highlight of the 2015 Collection of Australian Stamps, which will appeal to collectors, is an exclusive sheetlet featuring the Birth of a Princess stamp. “The stamp issues cover diverse subjects such as the fascinating planets in our Solar System, our rich history of clipper ships, the importance of lighthouse management, Australian’s love affair with well cared for cats and the variety of transport vehicles to some of Australia’s most beautiful destinations.”
The 2015 Collection of Australian Stamps is produced in both a standard and executive edition.
The latter features a leather-look cover with matching slipcase and gold-foil stamping on the cover with gilt-edged pages and brass corner protectors.
This edition is limited to 7,000 individually numbered copies.
Additionally the Australian Territories Collection of Stamps 2015 features gummed stamps, sheetlets and minisheets for three of Australia’s external territories – the Australian Antarctic Territory, Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
The collection is an ideal gift and includes the LNY zodiac sheet for 2015.
The 2015 Collection of Australian Stamps includes stamps with a face value of $99 making it an excellent buy at $109.95. The executive edition is priced at $134.95. The 2015 Australian Territories Collection of Stamps can be purchased for $27.95.
