The Australian Territories Collection of Stamps 2016

The Australian Territories Collection of Stamps 2016 presents the stamp issues from our Australian Territories program for 2016, including our first stamp issue for Norfolk Island, featuring iconic and striking seabirds.

There are interesting island fauna to admire, including the beautiful and playful dolphins of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, and the attractive shell species and incredible Robber Crabs of Christmas Island. Stunning ice flowers have been captured from glass on Australian Antarctic Territory research stations. And we showcase the incredible work of renowned photographer Frank Hurley, who captured Ernest Shackleton’s ill-fated Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition in treacherous conditions. And, of course, the year ends with the humorous Christmas Island Christmas stamp issue, where Santa delivers gifts to local fauna, with the help of his ‘seabird’ elves.
