During October 2019, Australians around the country have the opportunity to embark on the Great Aussie Coin Hunt – to collect 26 special $1 coins.
The coins, on staggered release through the month, are a fun and nostalgic celebration of Australian life – with one coin for every letter of the alphabet, featuring classic Australian icons, from Australia Post to Zooper Dooper.
Simply visit a participating Post Office, make a cash purchase and hunt for the special coins in your change.
This exciting treasure hunt is aimed at collectors of all ages (even collectors in the making), so why not bring your children or grandchildren into your local participating Post Office and join in the fun! Collect all 26 coins and hunt for personalised sets, to spell your name or the names of family and friends!
There are colourful presentation folders, to house growing collections, as well as beach-themed Great Aussie Coin Hunt merchandise available in-store (you can’t get much more Aussie than that!) Look for drink bottles, can holders, reusable coffee cups and shopping bags. Merchandise items are priced at $9, to help you to build your $1 coin collection from your change.
The Great Aussie Coin Hunt begins on 1 October 2019, at participating Post Offices. Coins subject to in-store availability.
