In August 2020, we are releasing two collectables that mark 75 years since the end of World War II and a licensed stamp pack that pays tribute to an 80s movie classic.

Victory in the Pacific: 75th Anniversary

On 15 August 1945, it was announced that Japan had accepted the Allied demand for unconditional surrender, effectively bringing World War II to an end after six years of bitter conflict. Throughout the nation, jubilation erupted on the streets of the cities and towns. A public holiday was gazetted as VP (Victory in the Pacific) Day and is still commemorated every year on 15 August.

A postage prepaid envelope (PPE) and a postal numismatic cover (PNC) was released on 15 August 2020, to commemorate 75 years since the end of World War II, the most destructive war in human history. The PNC features an uncirculated $1 End of World War II: 75 Years coin from The Perth Mint.

Back to the Future: 35 Years

In 1985, Back to the Future was released, the retro comedy sci-fi adventure that became an instant hit with movie-goers. Teenager Marty McFly is accidentally sent back to 1955, with the help of his oddball inventor friend Doctor Emmett Brown. It’s a race against the clock to set things right, so Marty can get back to the “future”! This action-packed stamp pack contain 12 $1.10 MyStamps, featuring movie-themed graphics, including the iconic OUTATIME number plate and the DeLorean time machine.

The Victory in the Pacific: 75th Anniversary PPE is available now, online, at participating Post Offices and via mail order on 1800 331 794, while stocks last.

The Back to the Future: 35 Years stamp pack will be available from 20 August 2020, via the channels listed above.
