Australia Post has a stand at the upcoming Perth Stamp and Coin Show, at the South Perth Community Centre, between 24 March and 26 March 2023.
We’ll have a range of current releases and limited-edition collectables for purchase, including a daily, postmarked show-only minisheet and four daily, numbered show-only PNCs, produced especially for the show. On 25 March, there are two PNC releases: one at 10am and another at 1pm!
The show minisheet features two of the stamp designs from the recently released Fairy-wrens stamp issue. The four stamps showcase two beautiful Fairy-wren species that are found in northern Western Australia: the Purple-crowned Fairy-wren and the Red-backed Fairy-wren. The show-only daily minisheets are numbered (120 released each day) and include a coloured daily postmark. The mint minisheet is available at the show, and online from 24 March 2023.
Each show PNC features a coin from the Great Aussie Coin Hunt 3, produced by the Royal Australian Mint, as well as a printed MyStamp design. Each daily, numbered PNC is limited to 120 and includes the coloured daily postmark.
Nullarbor Plain PNC
The flat, arid, treeless Nullarbor Plain occupies 200,000 square kilometres, off the coast of the Great Australian Bight between South Australia and Western Australia. It’s the world’s largest single exposure of limestone bedrock.
Pinnacles PNC
The Pinnacles is the name given to limestone formations in Nambung National Park, Western Australia, 200 kilometres northwest of Perth. The region features thousands of weathered limestone pillars, some up to 3.5 metres in height.
Wattle PNC
There are around 1,100 Acacia species, most of which are native to Australia. Most feature fluffy, yellow ball-like flowers, though some species feature red, pink or white flowers, including Winged Wattle (Acacia alata var. Biglandulosa), which occurs naturally from Port Gregory to Mount Michael, Western Australia.
Zebra Finch PNC
The attractive Zebra Finch (Taeniopygia guttata) is by far the most numerous of the 19 finch species in Australia. It ranges over most of the continent, including Western Australia, particularly in arid regions where there is surface water.
