Visit us at the 2018 Newcastle Stamp and Coin Expo
The Newcastle Philatelic Society celebrates its centenary in May 2018. As part of its centenary celebrations, the society is hosting a national philatelic exhibition from Friday 25 May to Sunday 27 May 2018 at the Newcastle Showground Exhibition Centre. The Newcastle Philatelic Society 100th Anniversary Stamp and Coin Expo will feature 350 exhibit frames and more than 20 national stamp and coins dealers.

Newcastle Philatelic Society 100th Anniversary Stamp and Coin Expo mint minisheet
This attractive mint minisheet contains four Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier stamps from the Century of Service: War Memorials stamp issue, which was released on 10 April 2018. The background features a poignant photograph of the Newcastle Memorial Walk, located along Memorial Drive, The Hill, which was constructed to commemorate the centenary of ANZAC. The minisheet features the official show logo – an illustration of Lieutenant John Shortland, who landed in the Newcastle area in 1797.

Special product, only available at the show: Limited-edition and numbered show postal numismatic cover
This striking limited-edition and numbered postal and numismatic cover presents the $1 Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier stamp from the War Memorials stamp issue, together with a Perth Mint $1 uncirculated coin with a “Lest we Forget 1918” bugler design. One hundred of these covers will be released each day of the show and will include the corresponding coloured daily show postmark, as presented below.

The coloured daily show postmarks feature Lieutenant John Shortland (day 1), a commemorate poppy design (day 2) and the Nobbys Head lighthouse (day 3).
