Changes to the Australian Stamp Bulletin for 2024
Australia Post remains focused on ‘Delivering a better tomorrow’ for all our customers and the Philatelic team are committed to simplifying collecting products and services to ensure we deliver on the Post26 vision.
To continue to offer the Australian Stamp Bulletin as a free publication, necessary changes have been made and will take effect from the first edition for 2024. These changes include the reduction to the overall page number of the Stamp Bulletin and information included which will help to sustain our ability to provide news of new stamp issues in this free publication.
Information that was provided within the publication, but will now be made available online through the Australia Post Collectables website, includes the areas of:
- new requested temporary and permanent postmarks (with accompanying images)
- community stamp club shows and stamp-related events
- stamp reprints
Availability of Australian Antarctic Territory Cancelled Base Covers
Collectors are also advised that Australia Post will no longer produce and make available for purchase postmarked cover sets for Australian Antarctic bases. Postmarked covers previously produced for Australian Antarctic Territory stamps and available to order as a set were based on the Australian Antarctic Territory stamps released throughout the year.
To assist collectors with the cancellation of their own Australian Antarctic Territory base covers, which may include the bases of Casey, Macquarie, Davis and Mawson, we advise that Australian Antarctic base first day of issue and permanent pictorial everyday postmarks are held by Kingston Post Office in Tasmania, and by the Postmarking Office, Sprintpak, Australia Post, in Rowville, Victoria.
