Today, 9 May 2022, we’ve released our third set of 26 Great Aussie Coin Hunt $1 coins – featuring an Aussie icon for each letter of the alphabet. There’s famous flora and fauna such as C for Cockatoo and W for Wattle; impressive natural wonders such as U for Undara Lava Tubes and P for Pinnacles; and even something for your sweet tooth such as V for Vanilla Slice!
The coins, struck by the Royal Australian Mint, are available to purchase as an entire set or you can really get into the fun of the hunt and collect them in your change at participating Post Offices, while stocks last.
As well as purchasing individual coins in a sleeve ($3 RRP each), you can purchase a folder to proudly display your collection ($7 RRP). Plus, if you buy the full set (tube of 26 coins, plus display folder for $47 RRP), you can go into our daily draw to win $1,000 until 5 June 2022!* To add to the fun of the hunt, there are also special, coloured X for Crux coins (“Crux” being the Southern Cross constellation), which have been placed randomly in the tubes of coins.
If you want to get really creative with your coins, there are three sizes of floating coin frames available. The small and medium frame ($22 RRP) each holds one row of 8 coins, side by side. The large frame ($24 RRP) holds two rows of 8 coins. Why not spell out the names of your children or a special message.
As part of the Great Aussie Coin Hunt 3, we’ve released some special collectables that contain some of the Great Aussie Coin Hunt coins or relate to the coin themes. There’s a limited-edition postal numismatic cover (PNC) for each of the K for Kelpie, L for Luna Park and R for R.M.Williams coins ($17.95 RRP each). There’s a limited-edition PNC featuring D for Darrell Lea ($17.95 RRP) and a Darrell Lea stamp pack ($28.50 RRP). The pack contains 24 self-adhesive MyStamps, featuring photos of Darrell Lea stores and chocolate-making through the years as well as package designs for some of Darrell Lea’s best-selling treats. To top it off, both the stamp on the PNC and the stamps in the pack are scratch and sniff and smell like chocolate!
